H.K. Hummel is the studio director. She is author of Lessons in Breathing Underwater (Sundress Publications, 2020) and the co-author of Short-Form Creative Writing: A Writer's Guide and Anthology (Bloomsbury Academic, 2018). Heather is an assistant professor or creative writing at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and one of the founding editors of Blood Orange Review. She has an MFA in creative writing from the University of Southern Maine Stonecoast MFA program, and an MA in English Literature from Eastern Washington University. Bryan Fry is the editor-in-chief of Blood Orange Review and the editing and publishing coordinator for the English department at Washington State University. He earned his BA in literature from Walla Walla College and his MFA in creative writing from the University of Idaho. His essays have appeared in Brevity, Front Porch, South Dakota Review, and elsewhere. In addition to writing and editing, Fry has received numerous awards for his pedagogical practices, which attempt to dismantle the classroom structure and lead students right up to the page where they are empowered to think like writers. He's lead panels and workshops at the Association of Writers and Writing Programs, the Montana Book Festival, and the Port Townsend Writers Conference.
